'Sweet and Low' is a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson published in 1850, set to music in 1863 by Sir Joseph Barnby. This arrangement came from a school text book based on Barnby's setting, learnt by Chris and passed on aurally. The vocal trio 'Lyric' invited Gabrielle over to hear their rendition and and were happy to have it included in the archive, although it was not eventually used with parents because it works best with several voices, as sung here.
